New York-Style Pizza is a classic American dish that is loved by many around the world. The crispy yet chewy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and gooey cheese make for a deliciously satisfying meal.

While you can find this style of pizza at many pizzerias in New York City, there's nothing quite like making it at home.

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups bread flour, 1 tsp sugar, 1 envelope instant dry yeast, 2 tsp salt, 1 1/4 cups water, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes,

1 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, 1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the water and olive oil to the bowl and stir until the dough comes together.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). In a medium bowl, mix together the crushed tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer it to a lightly greased pizza pan.

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
