Ingredients

1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup (60ml) unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup (60ml) mashed banana, 2 tablespoons (30ml) peanut butter (make sure it doesn't contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs), 1 large egg

1/2 cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons (30ml) carob powder (chocolate is toxic to dogs)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a small cake pan or muffin tin. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, combine the applesauce, mashed banana, peanut butter, and egg.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan or muffin tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool completely before frosting. To make the frosting, simply whisk together the Greek yogurt and carob powder until smooth.

For a more festive cake, decorate it with dog-themed treats, such as bone-shaped biscuits or carob chips.

If your dog is sensitive to dairy, you can substitute the Greek yogurt with unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana. This cake will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
