Cake pops have become a popular dessert treat in the United States over the last few years. These bite-sized treats are perfect for parties, events, or even just as a fun snack.

Made with crumbled cake, frosting, and a lollipop stick, cake pops are a creative and delicious way to enjoy your favorite cake flavors in a fun, portable form.

Ingredient

1 boxed cake mix (any flavor), 1 can of frosting (16 oz), 1 package of candy melts (12 oz), Lollipop sticks, Sprinkles (optional)

Instruction

Bake the cake mix according to the instructions on the box. Let it cool completely. Once the cake has cooled, crumble it into fine pieces using your hands or a food processor.

Add the can of frosting to the crumbled cake and mix it together until it forms a dough-like consistency. Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.

Place the cake balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

While the cake balls are chilling, melt the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler.

Once the candy melts have melted and the cake balls have chilled, dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted candy and then insert it into the center of a cake ball.

Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts, making sure it is completely coated. You can use a spoon to help cover the cake pop if necessary.

Place the cake pops back onto the baking sheet and let them cool and harden in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Once the candy coating has hardened, your cake pops are ready!
