Ingredients 

1 cup all-purpose flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3/4 tablespoon white sugar, 3/4 cup milk, 1 small egg, 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions 

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.

Pour  the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just      combined. Do not overmix. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium      heat.

 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan for eac pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes per      side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Maple syrup, Melted butter, Fresh fruit, Whipped cream, Chocolate chips, Peanut butter, Nutella

Serving suggestions 

Serve American pancakes with a side of bacon, sausage, and eggs for a complete breakfast. Serve American pancakes with fresh fruit and yogurt for a healthy and refreshing breakfast.

 Serve American pancakes with ice cream and whipped cream for a decadent dessert.

Tips 

For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking. Do      not overmix the batter, as this will make the pancakes tough.

Cook the pancakes over medium heat to avoid burning them. If you are adding toppings to your pancakes, wait until the pancakes are cooked through      before adding them.

Variations 

For blueberry pancakes, add 1/2 cup of blueberries to the batter. For chocolate chip pancakes, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the batter.

For banana pancakes, mash 1 ripe banana and add it to the batter. For whole wheat pancakes, substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour.
